TCAP Feature Story
This is an example of a feature story I created for the Tippecanoe Child Abuse Prevention Council
Lafayette will “Paint the Town Blue” for the Month of April
April has been declared national Child Abuse Prevention Month by the national Child Abuse Prevention Chapter. That being said, this month the Tippecanoe Child Abuse Prevention Council will be painting the town blue in order to raise awareness. Along with the city building being lit up in blue lights with blue decorations, there will be many events held throughout Tippecanoe County in order to raise awareness on this topic and to educate the Tippecanoe public, especially parents and children.
The schedule of events is as follows for the month of April:
Paint the Town Blue: April 1-30
Proclamation: April 2
Keynote Luncheon with Speaker Mary Armstrong-Smith: April 25
Family Funfest: April 25
National Blue Saturday and Sunday: April 28 & 29
All of these events are open to the Tippecanoe public. They are meant to encourage quality time spent between parents and children in fun settings while also learning about child abuse prevention.
